Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system in adults. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, muscle function and teeth. Vitamin D also contributes to normal absorption/utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, while also playing a role in the process of cell division (claims substantiated by EFSA - European Food Safety Authority).
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. Usually, Vitamin D is sourced from lanolin which is from sheep’s wool, making it non vegan friendly. However, this supplement is completely suitable for vegans as the source is lichen, a vegan Vitamin D source alternative.
